How do you make a technology useful and usable?
Dr Friederike Jöhlinger (Wave Photonics)
At Wave Photonics we work on developing an extensive component library (PDK) for integrated photonics, including component designs for a range of materials, wavelengths, polarisations, etc. However, just designing a large number of highly optimised components is not enough to make the PDK useful and sellable. To create an actual product, you need to ensure your innovation is accessible to users and can, for example, integrate with existing design flows.
